(S02E11) Roger is starting anew and Jane is the nectar of life, his rebirth. Is Roger grasping for Jane because subconsciously he knows he blew it with Joan? He's ready to sacrifice everything for her, including a chunk of his fortune. "This is the life I was meant to have," he says. I love George the lawyer telling him the cost: "Think of all the good things in life, then cut them in half."
Don is in paradise. Sun, exotic music, a vision of a woman that looks like Betty, but she passes right by him. The devil appears in the form of Willy, the viscount. He's actually pimping out his daughter Joy, although we don't know he's her father till much later. Joy offers Don a way out, a beautiful life traveling to beautiful places, freedom at an epic scale, including the fact that she's not possessive. "You can have anyone you want," she tells him.

There were much better lines said in this week's episode than the one I just put above (more on those lines later). However, what McCluskey said is what has been interesting me the most since the
season premiere: what is Dave really up to. We get that he doesn't like McCluskey at all and that he is trying to befriend everyone on Wisteria Lane. But what is his ultimate game plan? Who is he really after and why? These questions, and the fact that Dave is so creepy and well played by actor
Neal McDonough, help keep me glued to my TV during
Desperate Housewives and make me think that Dave's storyline may turn out to be as good as, if not better, than Katherine's storyline last season.

(S03E03) I found this episode of
Dexter to be the funniest so far. I know they aren't exactly going for a dramedy here, but the comedic relief in tonight's episode was priceless. Then again, when Dexter brutally strangles someone, I suppose we needed the change in mood.
The best part? Dexter's voiceovers. Voiceovers can be a tricky thing, and of the shows I watch, only
Dexter and
Burn Notice get it right. The title of the episode is reflected throughout the voiceovers, with lion and hunting comparisons while Dexter is interacting with the pedophile. These are tightly written and woven seamlessly throughout the episode.

(S13E03) "I know she pushed my sports bra off the ledge!" - Christy about Starr
While the sports bra debacle wasn't the only drama on tonight's episode of
The Amazing Race, it played a role one and off throughout the show. And, I'm sure we haven't heard the last of it. while the animosity within the teams seemed to dwindle some this week, the animosity between a few of the teams is amping up. That's a good thing as far as I'm concerned. I find racers who constantly bicker with their partners really annoying. But when teams are contentious with other teams, it gives them more of a spirit of competition. Read on for my review!

(S09E01) It's rare when a procedural drama, especially one like
CSI which is the blueprint for forensics-driven cop shows, has the chance for a truly emotional, cathartic episode. That's what happened with this episode and
CSI's stellar cast rose to the occasion, especially William Petersen.
Picking up right where it left off in the season finale, unlike most
CSI plots, this one wasn't a whodunit or a whydunit or even a howdunit. The audience knew what had happened in the early morning hours after the night shift finished work and shared breakfast together.
Outside the diner, down a dark alley, Warrick was sitting alone in his car and something ominous was bound to happen -- and did.

Well, that was a little strange... and maybe a little unnecessary. All right, it was definitely unnecessary. I wasn't quite sure how they were going to work out these Thursday election specials, because even though they called it "Weekend Update Thursday", I didn't believe they were just going to show a twenty-some minute long "Weekend Update" segment. As it turned out, the special consisted of one cold open and the rest was "Weekend Update." This is where I got super-confused. Half of these jokes had absolutely nothing to do with the election, leaving me to wonder if there is anyone out there that could not have waited until Saturday night to hear the relevant jokes. I don't think anyone's going to forget the election or the economic crisis any time soon, let alone by Saturday.

(S05E03) "Yeah yeah - the hair. It's one of the many things that makes me happy." - Meredith
This wasn't the best episode of Grey's Anatomy, but I think it got back to a lot of the core reasons that made this show good in the first place. The focus has finally returned to Meredith and Derek, which was sorely lacking last season. This show just doesn't make sense to me when the tension between those two is ignored or pushed aside for one of the bajillion other relationships going on.
Beyond that, there was plenty of humor - another thing that had been lacking. So I'm feeling good about where this season is going to take us and as I said - it starts with Mer and Der.

(S01E01) We're friends here, aren't we? So, I can be honest with you. I mean, some of you have been utterly, brutally honest with me to the point I cry into my pillow at nights. The least you can let me do is allow some truthiness spill over to you. Okay? Okay.
I went in blind to the premiere of Kath & Kim. Not blind in the sense that I didn't know who the stars were. My late 20s and early 30s were spent watching Molly Shannon on Saturday Night Live and I had knowledge of Selma Blair's work over the last few years. What I'm talking about is that I knew nothing about this NBC comedy or the Australian hit it was based on. The upside to this was that I was coming into the show like any other viewer. The downside was that I was coming into the show like any other viewer.
I probably should have come in a little more knowledgeable.

Sling Media altar. Yet again, the makers of the Slingbox have made it possible for me to review
The Office in a timely fashion despite the fact that I'm currently doing a week of shows in Las Vegas (where
The Office airs three hours later than I'm used to and, for marketing purposes, has magician Lance Burton digitally inserted into every scene). If you're a traveler and a TV watcher and you haven't bought a Slingbox yet, you're missing out.
Part of me worried about the ethics of opening with what amounts to be a commercial for Slingbox (and also for my fabulous Las Vegas comedy show at the Tropicana: tickets still available for the weekend!) Then I realized that by doing so, I actually provided a pretty good segue into the theme of tonight's episode. So let's get to it...

Survivor doesn't have any new tricks up their sleeves, they surprise me. After so many seasons, it's probably hard to think of new and different things. That's why we see so many locks and puzzles. There were no locks, no bagels, no puzzles in tonight's episode. But it also wasn't quite what the promos were hinting at, either. "Blond against blond against blond," they hyped. (S02E02) The Darlings had to bury one of their own this week, and they sent the deceased off in style. Sure, the eulogy was written about someone else and some of the mourners were arrested, but that's part of the fun of these events. The rest of the episode was business as usual--power struggles, inappropriate sexual partners, and suitcases filled with cash. No complaints here.

(S02E02) I love the romanticism of
Pushing Daisies, especially the way this episode presented it. Instead of all the usual sunshine and sweetness, Ned was actually acting petulant and sullen. Chuck was asserting her independence and feeling the need for seizing the opportunity of a new beginning.
For a change, these two that are normally so in sync had to deal with an internal challenge, as opposed to the physical constraints that are inherent because Ned cannot touch Chuck lest he lose her forever. Ned had to accept that Chuck was living next door -- in Olive's apartment -- and happy about it.

(S07E07) Things were a little different for the results show this week. The unfortunate injury that forced Misty May-Treanor out of the competition left the producers in a quandary. If they were to eliminate another team, they would be a week short for the planned season. Personally, I would have rather seen an elimination tonight and an extra week tacked on somewhere down the line. Alas, it wasn't meant to be. Much like what we saw when Sara Evans quit the show, they stretched, and stretched, before getting to the announcement. Along with that slow coming revelation, they also managed to have the best collection of music and dance of the season so far.

(S07E06) "I'm not Shane." - Vic
There are way too many layers to that quote. For Vic to say something like that and to actually believe it just goes to show you how delusional a person he truly is. For him to actually believe that he's somehow better than Shane Vendrell is just about as hypocritical as it gets. Bad behavior leads to more bad behavior by setting a precedent and if you're a longtime fan of The Shield, you know the original sin: Terry Crowley.
